Ika Butoni

Ika is an Indonesian fashion designer. 
Her brand Ika Butoni, draws inspiration from Indonesian heritage and broader Asian influences 
Her work is  celebrated for her culturally rooted, environmentally conscious, and artistically distinctive with design approach.
 
Education & Early Career
- Faculty of Letters, University of Indonesia – 1969
- Fashion Design & Pattern Making, London College of Fashion (now UAL) – 1977
- Designer for Coordinates at L’Estelle D’Ore, Berlin – 1979

 

In the early 1980s, she founded Butoni Limited in Hong Kong and began expanding her creative vision onto the international stage. Her couture collections, renowned for Eco-Print techniques with strong sustainability ethos, have been exported to more than 40 countries worldwide, earning her recognition across global fashion circles. Designed to resonate with women of all backgrounds, her pieces reflect the belief that fashion is a universal language that unites rather than divides.
